Vietnamese Singer Long Nhat Faces Charges in Drug Case

Vietnamese singer Long Nhat, whose real name is Dinh Long Nhat, has been recommended for prosecution on two drug-related charges.

According to the investigation, on March 23, Nhat bought VND 500,000 worth of methamphetamine from a driver named Kieu Quoc Nha.

He then took the drugs to his apartment at Tan Tao Apartment Complex, Ho Chi Minh detective agency.

At the apartment, Nhat gave the drugs to Do Minh Giang to prepare for use. A domestic worker later joined them. Investigators said the drug-use equipment had been prepared by the group.

On March 26, Nhat allegedly bought drugs again from a man named Duc. The drugs were used in a bedroom at the apartment.

Ho Chi Minh detective, Nhat later gave the remaining drugs to Giang for safekeeping.

On March 28, police detected suspicious behavior and took Nhat in for questioning. A drug test later came back positive. Police also searched Giang’s residence and seized 0.6 grams of drugs.

During questioning, Nhat and the others admitted to using drugs together at the apartment on two occasions. Nhat was also found to have previously purchased drugs for personal use.

Ho Chi Minh City Police have recommended prosecuting Nhat for organizing illegal drug use and illegally possessing drugs.

Eight other defendants in the case have also been recommended for prosecution on drug-related charges.
