Nguyen Xuan Chinh, secretary of the Party committee of Hoang Liet ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi city, was prosecuted and temporarily detained by Hanoi police to investigate the act of accepting bribes.
In the same case, three other officials of the ward, including the Chairman, Vice Chairman and urban officials, were also prosecuted for the same crime.
According to the investigation, this group of officials received money from individuals and organizations to ignore violations of urban order, typically covering up an illegal parking lot of more than 4,000 m² on Nguyen Huu Tho Street.
Hanoi detective, since 2020, this group is accused of receiving a total of more than 1.1 billion VND in illegal money.
The investigation agency said that the incident was organized, taking advantage of the restructuring of the government apparatus to loosen management and gain personal benefits.
