Authorities in Ho Chi Minh city have uncovered a facility that specializes in modifying electric bikes, primarily for students—an activity that poses traffic safety risks and violates regulations.
During inspection, the facility was found to upgrade electric bicycles and e-scooters by increasing power output and altering designs to boost speed or change appearance.

Most customers were students—a group not permitted to operate high-speed or technically altered vehicles. Using such modified vehicles increases the risk of accidents due to limited riding skills.
Authorities emphasized that unauthorized modification of vehicle structures is prohibited. These vehicles, when used on public roads, endanger not only riders but also others.
