Da Nang city Vietnam: Motorcycle theft group discovered

Police in Hoa Cuong ward, Da Nang city, have detained Nguyen Duc Thanh, Le Thanh Hoang, born 2006, residing in Da Nang, and Tran Minh Vui for investigation on charges of property theft.

In the early morning of July 18, during a patrol, officers spotted two young men riding a motorcycle without license plates, showing suspicious behavior.

When asked to stop for inspection, both attempted to flee but were quickly chased down and apprehended.

Initial checks revealed that Le Thanh Hoang had a previous conviction for theft.

Further investigation uncovered that Hoang, along with other accomplices – some born in 2010 and 2012 – had committed at least 17 motorbike thefts, mostly targeting residential areas in the early morning hours.

The stolen motorbikes were sold via a Facebook account named “T.A.L.” Transactions were made by exchanging security codes, negotiating prices over phone calls, and then deleting all messages to avoid detection.

In addition to Hoang and Vui, police identified Nguyen Duc Thanh, born 1984, residing in Thanh Khe ward, Da Nang as the ringleader.

Thanh has two previous convictions for consuming property obtained by crime, Vietnam detective agency.

The total estimated value of the stolen vehicles is around 380 million VND. Police are continuing to expand the investigation.
