Information from the authorities in Dien Bien, Vietnam – C04 said that the police had just discovered and detained a subject to investigate the act of growing opium poppy.
Police forces of Nam Po district and Na Co Sa Border Guard station discovered and caught Ho A Cau illegally planting and tending opium poppy in the shifting cultivation area.
The planting area is 377 m2 with 3,268 poppy plants in the area of Huoi Po village, Na Co Sa commune, Nam Po district, Dien Bien province.
Functional forces and local authorities uprooted all of the above opium poppies and destroyed them.
